Texture and Layers represent a coming of age, an escape from what was. Acrylic and collage along with rich color and moving design express a feeling of explosion and empowerment as I painted this piece, I imagined letting go of what was and moving towards something more powerful than I ever imagined. In my mind I've let people hold me back when I wanted to hang on too long, or perhaps it was me that held me back. When you release yourself from someone else's baggage there is a freedom you can't quite explain. Perhaps this work of art sheds the light on a minute part of this process of moving forward.
